  • PhD in Mechanical engineering by the Instituto Superior Técnico, part of the Technical University of Lisbon. PhD thesis title: "Life cycle assessment applied to the environmental and energy analysis of buildings”.
  • MSc  degree in Mechanical Engineering (Energy), by the Instituto Superior Técnico part of the Technical University of Lisbon. MSc thesis title: "Assessment of thermal performance in buildings with curtainwall. Application to Lisboa”.
  • Degree in Mechanical engineering, by the Instituto Superior Técnico, part of the Technical University of Lisbon.

Functions and Relevant Public Offices

  • Assistant Researcher of LNEC, since 2008.
  • Mechanical engineer, member of the Portuguese Engineers Order, Qualified Expert of the Portuguese System of Building Energy Certification.
  • Professor of the Discipline "Materials and technologies of Facades” of Postgraduate Studies in Facades Engineering, FCT/UNL-LNEC. 2016/2018.
  • Energy manager of LNEC, under EcoAP program, since 2011.
  • Member of technical commissions to revise building energy efficiency regulations and indoor air quality of service buildings (RECS) and member of the technical commission to revise ventilation requirements for houses (RHE), 2010-2013.
  • Head of the window testing laboratory (2000-2014).

  • Principal Researcher in the research project PERCENT - Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Energy Performance Contracts in the hospitality sector (2018).
  • Principal Researcher in Building energy modelling EcoAP – Building energy Modelling of public buildings (2017-2018).
  • Principal Researcher in AdaPT AC:T – Method to promote adaptation to climate change in the hospitality sector (2015-2016).
  • Principal Researcher in Indicators of passive thermal behaviour of residential buildings (2016-2018).
  • Principal Researcher from LNEC in the research project PMAAC-AML – Metropolitan plan for adaptation to climate change - Metropolitan area of Lisbon (2017-2019)

  • Studies to improve and qualify windows and curtain walls, and studies for the quality assurance of the installation process of windows at the works.

  • Organization and teaching of training sessions on regulations for energy efficiency of buildings.
