DHA develops research in the whole water cycle focused on 5 strategic lines: risk management and safety, hydraulic infrastructures; environment and aquatic systems; urban water; and information technology applied to water and environment. Through its scientific activity, DHA supports the creation and implementation of public policies in the water domain and promotes the transfer of scientific knowledge to the society, intertwining science and engineering for the solution of societal problems. DHA also holds state-of-the-art capacity on high accuracy, high performance numerical modeling, and unique experimental facilities for physical modeling of ports, dams and other hydraulic structures.
