Research interests
The ultimate goal of my research is to
solve coastal engineering problems, in particular those related to
hydrodynamics, sediment dynamics and water quality. This goal led me to
pursue several research threads:
- 1) the development and analysis of numerical models and methods to
simulate circulation, morphodynamics and transport in coastal zones,
with an emphasis on unstructured grids;
- 2) the analysis of hydrodynamic processes in coastal zones, such as
tidal propagation and deformation, as well as the exchange of water and
suspended mater between estuaries and the sea;
- 3) the analysis of the morphological evolution of coastal systems,
with a major focus on tidal inlets.
