2024-05-13

On 19 April 2024, the 2nd Public-Private-Civil Partnership (PPCP) Living Lab of the Portuguese case study was held at the facilities of the Port Administration of Figueira da Foz. This Living Lab was organized by the Portuguese C2IMPRESS project team, made up of members from LNEC and from the Ports of Aveiro and Figueira da Foz.

This Living Lab follows on from the first one held in October 2023 and aims to continue implementing the PPPC approach in the Portuguese pilot region, which includes the municipalities of Figueira da Foz and Montemor-o-Velho. The PPCP approach, seeks to bring together stakeholders with different values and objectives around a common cause (creating resilience in face of disasters), to co-create and co-design solutions, and to develop collective intelligence of stakeholder groups in a given territory.

In the 2nd Living Lab, an Action Plan was delineated to deal with a specific natural disaster. This Action Plan considered the pre-disaster, during-disaster and post-disaster phases. Two tools developed within the project were also presented during the Living Lab: the Hazard Monitor App and the Disaster Monitoring and Observation Platform. These two tools have essential functionalities in the support of disaster management. There were 14 participants, representing public, private, and civil society stakeholders.
