LNEC's intervention in the Fort of São Filipe, in Setúbal2025-02-07 LNEC has been monitoring the evolution of the behavior of the southeast slope of the foundation massif of the São Filipe Fort, in Setúbal, since 1983, which has presented several stability issues over time. At the request of the Setúbal City Hall, in the execution of two works, LNEC provided technical assistance both within the scope of the project and in monitoring the stability of the work and the contracts, which took place, in a 1st phase, in 2018 and 2019, and in a 2nd phase, which is underway and was assigned in the last quarter of 2022, with the aim of promoting the stabilization of the slope adjacent to the Fort. Additional phases of intervention are also planned. The results obtained in the observation system showed that some activities, namely excavations, drilling and injections were disturbance factors, but the magnitude and rate of the registered displacement values were always low, so that the progress of the work has not been conditioned by the recorded deformations. |
