LNEC welcomes students from Liceu Passos Manuel on two visits2025-03-05 Students from Liceu Passos Manuel visit LNEC and explore dam and structural engineering, more specifically, on the seismic platform. In two different weeks, the Laboratory received a visit from more than 40 students who had the opportunity to see up close the work of the specialized technicians who accompanied them and demonstrated how some tests are carried out today and how they were carried out in the past. The visits allowed students to better understand the challenges and solutions in civil engineering, with a focus on safety and innovation in the construction of critical infrastructures. In the Modeling and Rock Mechanics Unit and The Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics Unit, the demonstration of the methodologies used in the analysis of materials and in the study of structural behaviour, contributed to a deeper knowledge that complements their academic training. LNEC is committed to promoting knowledge sharing with the school community, awakening young people's interest in the areas of engineering and scientific research. Through these initiatives, the link between education and professional practice is strengthened, encouraging students to consider careers in these fields. |
