1st GPBE Symposium: 60 Years | Second Generation of Eurocode 2
Objective
The primary objective of the Symposium is to promote the dissemination of the second generation of Eurocode 2 and the provisions of its National Annex, contributing to a clearer understanding of its key updates and preparing the technical, academic, and professional community for its implementation. A landmark engineering project will also be presented.
Marking the 60th anniversary of the Portuguese Group for Structural Concrete (GPBE), the Symposium will also serve as a premier forum for networking and knowledge sharing among experts, researchers, and industry professionals, providing an opportunity to discuss the implications of this new generation of standards on structural concrete design. The programme also highlights excellence in the training of young engineers, research, and professional careers through the presentation of the Young Master’s Award, the Research Excellence Award, and the GPBE Medal of Merit. In the year celebrating six decades of activity, GPBE marks this milestone with its 1st Symposium, reaffirming its commitment to advancing and promoting knowledge in the field of structural concrete.
Target Audience
The Symposium is primarily intended for civil engineers and professionals involved in the conceptualization, design, and execution of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures. It is also aimed at faculty, researchers, and students of civil engineering, as well as all professionals and entities active in structural concrete who wish to update their knowledge and keep pace with regulatory developments, particularly the advancements introduced by the second generation of Eurocode 2.
