The main objective of the Symposium is to promote the dissemination of the second generation of Eurocode 2 and the provisions of its corresponding National Annex, thereby contributing to a better understanding of its key developments and to preparing the technical, academic and professional communities for its implementation. A reference structure will also be presented.
Marking the 60th anniversary of the Portuguese Group for Structural Concrete (GPBE), the Symposium will also provide a valuable forum for networking and exchange among specialists, researchers and professionals in the sector. It will offer an opportunity to discuss the implications of this new generation of standards for the design of concrete structures. The programme will further recognise excellence in the education of young engineers, research and professional careers through the presentation of the "Prémio Jovens Mestres", the "Prémio Excelência na Investigação" and the "Medalha de Mérito GPBE", respectively.
