        Activity

        The Information Technology and Computer Infrastructure Centre develops research, technological development, and Innovation (R&DI) activities in information systems and technologies applied to Civil Engineering. This activity is developed by an  experienced and multidisciplinary team, with a strong background  in computer engineering and computer science. It is funded through national and international research programs, with an emphasis on the European Commission and the FCT.

        NTIII promotes:

        • the integration and transfer of knowledge, methods and   technology developed at LNEC and in partnership with external   entities, through web applications and dedicated information systems;
        • the development and application of innovative technology-based products at LNEC focused on the needs of its partners and customers.

        In terms of IT infrastructures, the following stand out

        • Support users through an automated Helpdesk service;
        • Propose and implement procedures and policies for the use of IT and security resources;
        • Management of users' computer equipment, servers under their control, printing, telephone and network communications equipment, and their renewal
        • Planning, installation and management of network and  communications equipment
        • Management of network services, authentication, e-mail, data storage and safeguarding, databases and service portals;
        • Monitoring IT systems and resources from an availability and security perspective.
        • Support for users of high performance resources and  participation in the Advanced National Computing Infrastructure.
