        DEVELOPED ACTIVITY 

        2003-present – Responsible Researcher of the project "Geotechnical risk in tunnels for high-speed trains" financed by FCT (POCI/ECM/57495/2004) and participation in 9 LNEC programmed research projects, being the Responsible Researcher in four.


        2003-present – Coordination of studies contracted to LNEC, namely:

        Analysis of the behaviour and safety control of underground and surface works of hydroelectric projects during construction, first filling and exploitation

        characterization of rock masses, including in situ testing campaigns and their interpretation

        opinions on design and observation aspects of underground works

        monitoring the construction and rehabilitation of urban road tunnels


        2003-present – Within the scope of scientific supervision:

        three doctoral theses completed

        a completed master's thesis

        three scholarships for initiation into scientific research

        2011-present – member of the CEN TC250 SC7 committees responsible for Rock Engineering, and its coordinator from 2018
