Substitute for the Director of Quality Management for testing and metrology laboratories (LNEC-EM), in accordance with standard NP EN ISO 17025, since May 2014.
Coordination of UBC-AEF, physical testing laboratory (AEF) of the Concrete and Cement Operational Unit (UBC) of LNEC, since January 2004.
Member of the ATIC/ONS/CT technical committee for Standardization 104 “Concrete”, since November 2019.
Coordinated the Certification Management Committee since September 2021.
Replacement of the National Delegate on the Management Committee (Management Committee MC) for Portugal, in COST action TU1404, from July 2014 to 2018.
Scientific coordination of the FCT project – PTDC/ECM/101810/2008 (2010) Cementitious Mortars Modified with Polymers for Repair of Reinforced Concrete Structures. Proc. 0202/14/17419, February 2010 and February 2013.

Application, development, characterization, and performance evaluation of construction materials, particularly concrete/mortar/pastes, and their constituents, either in the laboratory or in situ.
Development and implementation of techniques for inspecting concrete in structures and for repairing systems and materials.
Assessing of deterioration in reinforced concrete structures and durability of concrete and mortars.
