LNEC is co-organizing with the Portuguese Structural Concrete Group (GPBE) the 1st GPBE Symposium – 60 Years, dedicated to the 2nd Generation of Eurocode 2, which will take place at LNEC on November 6, 2026.
During this symposium, another edition of the Young Masters Award will be held—an initiative promoted by the GPBE, with support from SECIL—which recognizes the best master’s theses in the field of Structural Concrete, building on the success of previous editions.
The competition is open to master’s theses completed between September 21, 2024, and September 20, 2026, and will recognize works that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and innovation in the field of structural concrete.
The three highest-ranked theses will be presented by their respective authors during a dedicated session as part of the symposium.
The pre-registration period for candidates runs through September 10, 2026, while applications must be submitted by September 25, 2026. The results of the eligibility review, corresponding to the first phase of the competition, will be announced on October 6, 2026.
The rules and additional information about the Young Masters Award are available on the GPBE website.
