Students from Externato S. José, in Lisbon, had a learning experience at the Seismic Engineering and Structural Dynamics Unit of the National Civil Engineering Laboratory.

The students visited the triaxial seismic platform, where they were able to observe the construction of models and learn how earthquake tests are carried out, complemented by a presentation on seismic risk management and mitigation.

The initiative aimed to familiarise students with the scientific methodologies used to protect buildings and infrastructure against natural disasters. The visit began with a video presentation of the Laboratory in the classroom.
