COASTLIFE is a project dedicated to enhancing coastal resilience and sustainability, as well as improving the ecological value of coastal and port structures, through the development, testing and assessment of innovative hybrid solutions. At Cova do Vapor, the project’s pilot site, blocks designed to promote marine biodiversity will be tested.
The Cova do Vapor Residents’ Association hosted a project presentation session led by Eng. Ana Mendonça (LNEC) and Professor Paula Chainho (Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon / MARE).
The event was attended by members of the local community, Sandra Chaíça, President of the Union of Parishes of Caparica and Trafaria, and representatives of the Almada Municipal Council (CMA).
Partners: Faculty of Sciences (ULisboa); Instituto Superior Técnico (ULisboa); Faculty of Architecture (ULisboa); and ECONCRETE.
COASTLIFE also benefits from the financial and technical support of Teixeira Duarte, as well as the institutional and logistical support of the Port of Lisbon Authority (APL), Almada Municipal Council (CMA), the Union of Parishes of Caparica and Trafaria, and SILOTAGUS.
