The European BIO-INTEL-MOB project, funded by the Horizon Europe programme, held its kick-off meeting on 20 and 21 January 2026 in Rome, at the premises of Sapienza Università di Roma, the project coordinator.
With a budget of close to €10 million, BIO-INTEL-MOB brings together 28 partners and 3 associated partners from several European countries, with the aim of transforming peri-urban mobility into a more sustainable, intelligent, data-driven and citizen-centred ecosystem.
LNEC, as the project partner responsible for coordinating the concept development task, was represented at the kick-off meeting by Eng. Sandra Vieira and Eng. João Cardoso, contributing to the initial alignment of the project's vision, implementation strategy and innovative solutions, which include:
- Advanced mobility data spaces
- Digital Twins
- Green routing algorithms
- Governance tools for smart cities
BIO-INTEL-MOB aims to establish new benchmarks for resilient, climate-neutral and data-driven mobility systems, reinforcing the sustainable transition in Europe.
