On 3 November 2025, the ‘Cities in Action’ Conference was held in Barcelona as part of the European project UP2030 – Urban Planning and design ready for 2030 (https://up2030-he.eu/). This final event provided an opportunity to gather urban practitioners committed to turning climate ambition into real, lasting change.

Drawing on the experience of the 11 UP2030 cities, the event explored how coordinated governance, stakeholder engagement and targeted capacity building can drive systemic urban transformation. Through panel discussions, interactive workshops, tools’ demos, and keynote sessions, “Cities in Action” showcased how integrated planning, cross-sector collaboration, and community-driven innovation can accelerate the shift towards just, resilient, and climate-neutral cities. 

Portuguese participation was ensured by project partners LNEC, CML and Lisboa E-Nova.
