26 February 2025
From March 24 to 28, 2025, the "Maritime and Port Works" Course will be held at LNEC.
Maritime and port works are structures where great risk is assumed in the design phase, related to the characteristics of the construction elements and the degree of uncertainty associated with the demands to which they are exposed. Environmental conditions with great variability, such as actions due to waves, wind, currents, tides and extreme combined events, impose significant challenges to the structural integrity and functionality of these works.
Furthermore, continued exposure to the marine environment can accelerate material degradation processes such as corrosion and wear. In this sense, the correct dimensioning and continuous maintenance of maritime works become essential.
With the aim of disseminating and consolidating the current knowledge of the technical-scientific community in this field, the Ports and Maritime Structures Center of LNEC organizes this course in Maritime and Port Works, which is aimed at technicians from companies and public administration and local authorities or or postgraduate students who wish to deepen their knowledge in the field of coastal and port engineering. Basic training in engineering or oceanography, or professional experience in these fields, is assumed.
The course has a minimum number of 15 participants.
