The Course "Quality and management of measurement in Wastewater and Stormwater Systems I (QSARP I)" was held at LNEC.
This course focused on modeling water supply systems and participants learned how to use EPANET, a hydraulic simulation software developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). EPANET allows management entities to understand and optimize the efficiency of water distribution systems, improving the operation and planning of their operations.
During the course, essential notions of hydraulic simulation and water quality were given, as well as fundamental steps for building and calibrating models. Practical exercises included the use of EPANET to explore network behavior, enabling diagnoses and improvements in areas such as pressure management and sectorization.
In the end, participants were trained to solve real problems in distribution networks, optimizing the performance and maintenance of water supply systems
