Around 30 students from the Bachelor's degree programme in Civil Engineering at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) visited various hydraulic facilities at LNEC, as part of an initiative that gave them the opportunity to see physical models and advanced water treatment systems at first hand.

During the visit, the students were divided into two groups to tour three different laboratory units, where they were able to deepen their technical knowledge with the support of resident specialists: the Maritime Pavilion, the Hydraulic Metrology Laboratory  and the Water Quality and Treatment Laboratory.

The tour included the observation of physical models (pilot systems) for conventional and advanced water treatment. One of the highlights of the visit was the practical demonstration of the treatment of synthetic water using a nanofiltration process, allowing the future engineers to observe the real-world application of cutting-edge technologies in the water cycle.

Cerca de 30 alunos da Licenciatura em Engenharia Civil do Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) visitaram diversas unidades de hidráulica do LNEC, numa iniciativa que permitiu o contacto direto com modelos físicos e sistemas avançados de tratamento de água.

Durante a visita, os estudantes foram divididos em dois grupos para percorrer três unidades laboratoriais distintas, onde puderam aprofundar conhecimentos técnicos com o apoio de especialistas residentes: o Pavilhão de Hidráulica Marítima, a Unidade de Hidráulica Metrológica e a Unidade de Qualidade e Tratamento de Água.

O percurso incluiu a observação de modelos físicos (sistemas piloto) de tratamento convencional e avançado de água. Um dos pontos altos da visita foi a demonstração prática do tratamento de uma água sintética através de um processo de nanofiltração, permitindo aos futuros engenheiros observar a aplicação real de tecnologias de ponta no ciclo da água.
