LNEC, in collaboration with buildingSMART Portugal and CT 197 - BIM, is organising the seminar ‘Objects and openBIM in 2026: where are we?’, which will take place at the Laboratory’s premises on Tuesday, 5 May, between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm.
The aim is to clarify concepts, outline the practical implications and promote debate on standardised rules and practices in the context of BIM objects for the Portuguese context. The intention is also to discuss pathways towards a possible national guide and business models for sharing platforms.
Topics to be covered:
- EN ISO 22014 – BIM object libraries;
- Product Data Templates (PDTs) and co-creation;
- Construction Products Regulation, Digital Passports and BIM;
- Navigating a BIM object and assessing its quality;
- Discussion with various industry experts, including reflections on a guide to best practice.
