LNEC, together with the University of Coimbra (UC), will organize the World Conference on Timber Engineering (WCTE) in July 2029, in the city of Coimbra. This conference is the largest scientific and technical event worldwide in the field of timber engineering and construction, bringing together over 800 participants and counting on the support of the largest companies in this sector.

The possibility of bringing an event of this importance for the wood products and timber construction sector to Portugal for the first time is the result of a joint effort by LNEC and UC, with the support of SerQ and a wide range of public and private entities that recognize Portugal's potential in this strategic area.

In 2029, the world of wood construction will find in Portugal a stage of excellence for sharing knowledge and promoting innovation.

O LNEC, conjuntamente com a Universidade de Coimbra (UC), vai organizar em julho 2029, na cidade de Coimbra, a conferência World Conference on Timber Engineering (WCTE). Esta conferência é o maior evento científico e técnico a nível mundial na área da engenharia e construção em madeira, juntando para cima de 800 participantes e contando com o apoio das maiores empresas deste setor.

A possibilidade de trazer pela primeira vez para Portugal um evento desta importância para o setor dos produtos de madeira e da construção em madeira, é o resultado de um esforço conjunto do LNEC e da UC, com o apoio da SerQ e de um vasto leque de entidades públicas e privadas que reconhecem o potencial de Portugal nesta área estratégica.
