For another consecutive year, LNEC welcomed the Lisbon City Council's ‘Commented Visits 2024’ event.

This event is an initiative of the Lisbon City Council's Cultural Promotion and Communication Division, which aims to promote the city and its architectural, historical and cultural heritage.

During the visit, our group was able to learn about the vast heritage history associated with the LNEC campus, classified in 2012 as a ‘Monument of Public Interest’, and also experience the activities carried out by two of the eight departments that live up to our motto ‘Engineering for society’.

From the Hydraulics and Environment Department, the group visited and learned about the work carried out by the Ports and Maritime Structures Unit. In the Structures Department, they had the opportunity to visit the Wind Tunnel and the Triaxial Shaking Table, the only one in Portugal.

LNEC appreciated the visit.
