LNEC welcomed two Italian students as part of the Erasmus+ programme, for a short-term professional internship at the Urban Water Unit.
During their internship, the students deepened their knowledge in the field of water quality and treatment through direct involvement in laboratory and field activities. The programme included participation in ongoing work at the Water Quality and Treatment Laboratory, namely sampling campaigns in a drinking water supply network and at a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), analysis of water quality parameters, monitoring of water treatment experiments, and analysis of experimental results.
During the technical visit to the WWTP, the students learned about the different treatment stages and facilities, gaining first-hand insight into water quality monitoring and control procedures.
The experience enabled the students to complement their academic training, developing technical and laboratory skills while gaining insight into research and innovation projects and activities carried out at LNEC.
An enriching experience of learning and knowledge sharing that strengthens LNEC’s international dimension and highlights the value of European cooperation in the training of young professionals.
