LNEC hosted a Romanian delegation as part of the study “Water Loss Reduction for Sustainable Water Management in Romania”, funded by the World Bank.
During the visit, LNEC presented the activities it carries out to support water supply service operators, with a particular focus on reducing losses in these systems.
The delegation also had the opportunity to visit the Water Quality and Treatment Unit (UQTA) and the Hydraulics and Metrology Unit (UHM), gaining a first-hand insight into some of the Laboratory’s infrastructure and technical and scientific expertise.
The visit was led by researchers Dália Loureiro and Álvaro Ribeiro, with the assistance of Helena Alegre, a recently retired researcher from LNEC.
This initiative underscores the importance of international cooperation and the sharing of technical and scientific knowledge to promote more efficient and sustainable management of water resources.
