In 2025, LNEC marks a moment of special significance: thirty years of accreditation of its testing and metrology laboratories with the 4th edition of the "LNEC Laboratories Open Day" was dedicated to the theme "30 years of Accreditation at LNEC".

The Laboratory opened its doors to society to showcase the work carried out in the areas of experimentation, certification and technological innovation. At the opening session, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Laura Caldeira, emphasised the importance of laboratory activity for research, stressing the investment made in equipment and systems that meet the demands of the sector and society. Laura Caldeira also mentioned the ongoing efforts to strengthen the technical team and update quality systems.

The programme included guided tours of laboratories, moments of sharing with technicians and researchers, and a temporary exhibition dedicated to ‘Samples and specimens tested at LNEC’, open until 30 October, which shows the diversity and complexity of the experimental work carried out in the laboratories.

This open day reinforced LNEC's commitment to quality, trust and innovation, bringing science and society closer together.
