LNEC participated in the International Conference on Coastal Engineering (ICCE 2026), held in Texas from May 17–22, presenting the paper: “BRIDGING SEA AND SOCIETY: TESTING HYBRID COASTAL STRUCTURES FOR SAFER AND INCLUSIVE SHORES,” delivered by Eng. Ana Mendonça from the Ports and Maritime Structures Unit.

This work explores innovative solutions for coastal and port structures, aiming to enhance safety in coastal areas and foster a more inclusive relationship between the sea and society.

Participation in this international conference was supported financially by FLAD – the Luso-American Development Foundation, which funded travel expenses, as well as by the COASTLIFE project (Operation no. 14681, LISBOA2030-FEDER-00918000).

This contribution reinforces LNEC’s commitment to developing sustainable solutions for current and future coastal challenges, while promoting knowledge sharing at an international level.

O LNEC marcou presença na International Conference on Coastal Engineering (ICCE 2026), realizada no Texas, de 17-22 de maio, com a apresentação do trabalho: “BRIDGING SEA AND SOCIETY: TESTING HYBRID COASTAL STRUCTURES FOR SAFER AND INCLUSIVE SHORES”, apresentado pela Eng.ª Ana Mendonça, do Núcleo de Portos e Estruturas Marítimas.

Este trabalho explora soluções inovadoras para estruturas costeiras e portuárias, visando promover maior segurança nas zonas costeiras e uma relação mais inclusiva entre o mar e a sociedade.

A participação nesta conferência internacional contou com o apoio financeiro da FLAD – Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento, que financiou a deslocação, bem como do projeto COASTLIFE (Operação n.º 14681, LISBOA2030-FEDER-00918000).
