Applications are now open for the BIM Excellence Award 2026 - an initiative of CT 197 - BIM, chaired by LNEC researcher Paula Couto, in partnership with BUILT CoLAB and PTPC – the Portuguese Construction Technology Platform/AEC Cluster.

This award recognises organisations and projects that are actively contributing to the digital transformation of the AEC sector – Architecture, Engineering and Construction – in Portugal, promoting the adoption of BIM methodology and the dissemination of best practices aligned with existing standards and guidelines.

The 2026 edition continues the Award’s mission, with a stronger focus on areas critical to the sector’s evolution, such as interoperability, structured information management and technological innovation associated with BIM – Building Information Modelling.

In 2026, six categories will be recognised:

- Project Owners: Contracting and Management

- Coordination and Design

- Planning and Construction

- Management of the Built Environment

- Interoperability: openBIM

- Technological Innovation in BIM

The deadline for submitting applications is 31 May.
