Laura Caldeira, President of the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC), received the Merit Personality Award, presented by Magazine Imobiliário as part of its 2026 awards, which recognize leading figures and their contributions to the real estate, construction, environment and tourism sectors.

The awards ceremony took take place on 29 September, as part of the celebrations marking the 13th anniversary of Magazine Imobiliário. Laura Caldeira was recognized for her professional career and contribution to the sector, in particular through her current role as LNEC's President, a national reference institution in research, innovation and technical expertise in civil engineering and related fields.

According to Magazine Imobiliário, the five award recipients were selected by the publication's editorial team based on their professional careers and contributions to their respective sectors.

In addition to Laura Caldeira, the 2026 awards recognized Aniceto Viegas, CEO of AVENUE Real Estate, with the Real Estate Personality Award; José Teixeira, CEO of dst group, with the Construction Personality Award; Paula Teles, CEO of MPT, in the Environment category; and Dionísio Pestana, founder and Chairman of Pestana Group, in the Tourism category.

The ceremony also marked Magazine Imobiliário's 13th anniversary and included the presentation of some of the initiatives planned by the publication for 2027.
