On July, Professor Babaak Ashuri from Georgia Tech (Atlanta, USA) visited the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC). The visit began with a meeting at the Buildings Department (DED), attended by Professor Ashuri, the Director of DED, Architect João Branco Pedro, and Engineer Maria João Falcão Silva from the Construction Economics, Management and Quality Unit (NEGQC).

During his visit, Professor Ashuri also had the opportunity to learn about various units within LNEC. He visited the Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics Unit (NESDE) of the Structures Department (DE), the Coatings and Insulation Unit (NRI) of the DED and toured the Rock Mechanics and Modelling Unit (NMMR), part of the Concrete Dams Department (DBB).

No passado mês de julho, o Professor Babaak Ashuri, da Georgia Tech (Atlanta, USA), visitou o Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC).  A visita teve início com uma reunião no Departamento de Edifícios (DED), em que estiveram presentes, para além do Prof. Ashuri, o Diretor do DED, Arq. João Branco Pedro, e a Eng.ª Maria João Falcão Silva, do Núcleo de Economia, Gestão e Qualidade da Construção (NEGQC). 

Durante a visita, o Professor Ashuri teve ainda oportunidade de conhecer vários núcleos do LNEC. Passou pelo Núcleo de Engenharia Sísmica e Dinâmica de Estruturas (NESDE), do Departamento de Estruturas (DE), pelo Núcleo de Revestimentos e Isolamentos (NRI) e visitou ainda o Núcleo de Modelação e Mecânica das Rochas (NMMR), do Departamento de Barragens de Betão (DBB).
