LNEC welcomed a study visit from students on the Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the Barreiro School of Technology, part of the Setúbal Polytechnic Institute.

The session began with an institutional presentation by LNEC and the screening of the institutional film, providing the students with an overview of the Laboratory’s mission and activities.

The programme also included a visit to the Building Quality, Economics and management Unit, within the Buildings Department, as well as to the Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics Unit, within the Structures Department, where the students had the opportunity to see the Wind Tunnel and the Seismic Platform, two of the most important experimental facilities for research and development in the field of civil engineering.

O LNEC recebeu a visita de estudo de estudantes da Licenciatura em Engenharia Civil da Escola Superior de Tecnologia do Barreiro, do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal.

A sessão teve início com uma apresentação institucional do LNEC e a exibição do filme institucional, proporcionando aos alunos uma visão global da missão e das atividades desenvolvidas pelo Laboratório.

O programa incluiu ainda uma visita ao Núcleo de Comportamento e Tecnologia da Construção, do Departamento de Edifícios, bem como ao Núcleo de Engenharia Sísmica e Dinâmica de Estruturas, do Departamento de Estruturas, onde os estudantes tiveram oportunidade de conhecer o Túnel de Vento e a Plataforma Sísmica, duas das infraestruturas experimentais mais relevantes para a investigação e desenvolvimento na área da engenharia civil.
