LNEC welcomed a visit from two groups of Navy Officers from the Specialization Course for Officers Specializing in Hydrography.

At the Hydraulics and Environment Department (DHA), the Naval Officers learnt about the main areas of work undertaken by LNEC at the Ports and Maritime Structures Unit (NPE), the key considerations regarding estuaries and coastlines, and the various methods employed. At the NPE, they were also able to observe how stability and freeboard tests are carried out and to see the Laboratory’s new irregular wave simulator.
