The Lisbon City Council's guided tours aim to showcase the city and its architectural, historical, and cultural heritage.

Once again, LNEC joined in this initiative, giving a lively account of the work of the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering and the history of its campus, classified in 2012 as a Monument of Public Interest.

The visit began with a brief presentation of the Arantes e Oliveira Building, inaugurated in 1952 and considered "one of the 100 most notable works built in the 20th century in Portugal”.

The visitors then visited the Manuel Rocha Building and its auditorium, with interior design by Daciano da Costa, the Sanitary Engineering Unit of the Hydraulics and Environment Department, and the Structures Department, namely the Seismic Engineering and Structure Dynamics Unit.

O LNEC associou-se, mais uma vez a esta inicitiva contando a viva voz não só a atividade do Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil, mas também a história do seu Campus, classificado em 2012, como Monumento de Interesse Público.

A visita inciou-se com uma breve apresentação do Edificio Arantes e Oliveira, inagurado em 1952 e considerado "uma das 100 obras mais notáveis construídas no Século XX em Portugal".

Em seguida, os visitantes conheceram o Edificio Manuel Rocha e o seu auditório, com design de interiores da autoria de Daciano da Costa e visitaram o Núcleo de Engenharia Sanitária do Departamento de Hidraulica e Ambiente e, ainda, conheceram o Departamento de Estruturas, nomeadamente o Núcleo de Engenharia Sismica e Dinâmica de Estruturas.
