LNEC welcomed Civil Engineering students from the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, with the aim of promoting direct contact with the multidisciplinary character that defines LNEC, especially in the area of research. 

The visit began with a brief institutional presentation and the screening of an institutional film. This was followed by a visit to the Concrete Dams Department, where the students learnt about the work of the Applied Geodesy Unit. 

In the Structures Department, they visited the wind tunnel and the Triaxial Shaking Table, where they saw simulations of earthquakes in buildings. 

The visit was an asset for the future engineers, specially because it combined theoretical knowledge with the visualisation of practical activities.
