LNEC hosted a group of students from ISEL's Civil Engineering degree programme.

During  their visit, the students visited the Ports and Maritime Structures  Unit and the Water Resources and Hydraulic Structures Unit of the  Hydraulics and Environment Department, as well as the Seismic  Engineering and Structural Dynamics Unit of the Structures Department.

At  the first Unit they learned about methods of protecting the coastline  and planning saltwater bays, at the second one how freshwater dams are  used for hydroelectric purposes and, finally, they were able to see in  detail how LNEC's seismic table works.

O LNEC recebeu um grupo de estudantes do curso superior de Engenharia Civil do ISEL.

Durante  a visita, os estudantes conheceram Núcleo de Portos e Estruturas  Marítimas (NPE) e o Núcleo de Recursos Hídricos e Estruturas Hidráulicas  (NRE) do Departamento de Hidráulica e Ambiente e, ainda, o Núcleo de  Engenharia Sísmica e Dinâmica de Estruturas (NESDE), do Departamento de  Estruturas.

No  NPE ficaram a conhecer os métodos de proteção da orla costeira e  ordenamento das baías de água salgada, no NRE como é feito o  aproveitamento hidroelétrico das barragens de água doce e no NESDE   puderam perceber em detalhe como funciona a plataforma sísmica do LNEC.
