LNEC welcomed 12 graduates from the Portuguese Insurance Association's Industrial Risk Analyst Course on a study visit dedicated to infrastructure risk and safety assessment.

The morning began with an institutional presentation and screening of a film about LNEC's activity followed by a technical tour of several specialised units.

In the Buildings Department, participants visited the Building Coatings and Thermal Insulation unit, namely the Fire Reaction Unit.

The visit continued in the Structures Department, with a tour of the Wind Tunnel and the Triaxial Seismic Platform of the Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics Unit, where they observed tests dedicated to structural behaviour under wind and seismic actions.

This initiative strengthens the link between the insurance sector and the applied research carried out by LNEC in the area of building safety and reliability.
