Council of Ministers Resolution (RCM) No. 8-A/2021, of 3 February, approved the Long-Term Building Renovation Strategy (ELPRE), aimed at supporting the renovation, by 2050, of the national stock of residential and non-residential buildings, both public and private, with a view to achieving a decarbonised and highly energy-efficient building stock, facilitating their transformation into nearly zero-energy buildings.
The aforementioned RCM provides for the creation of the ELPRE Coordination Group to monitor, supervise, and coordinate the strategy, this group being composed of representatives from the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) – which acts as coordinator – ADENE, LNEC, and IHRU.
Within the scope of the duties of the ELPRE Coordination Group, it is tasked with carrying out a biennial progress assessment of the implementation of ELPRE, and with publishing the respective report on the websites of the entities belonging to the Coordination Group (no. 6 of the RCM).
