This report describes the numerical model study for the characterization of the velocity field in a section of the submerged intake facility I of ACUINOVA, at Mira beach. For that, numerical model RANS (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) ANSYS-FLUENT was used to conduct three-dimensional modelling of water intake area that includes the two conduits with the 4 chimneys per conduct. The simulations are performed considering several intake flow rates.
