Methodology
This tool is to be fine-tuned for the selected harbour by taking into account the harbour characteristics, the wave data available and the harbour safety procedures and should be able to:

• characterize sea waves at the harbour region based on the offshore sea wave parameters forecast;
• assess sea-wave effects on port infrastructure, harbour navigation and port operations;
• issue the adequate warnings and alerts when safety is at stake;
• produce a database with useful information for the inspection / maintenance of port infrastructure.

A prototype of this tool will be developed at the Praia da Vitória harbour here several wave measuring equipments have been deployed within the scope of the
CLIMAAT and RADMAR projects.
