Research and Professional Activity

Development of a system to predict and alert wave overtopping and flooding events in coastal and port areas (HIDRALERTA Project).The coupling of several wave agitation and wave overtopping models. Enhancement of existing methodologies, mainly in relation to risk assessment, with the integration of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in the spatial analysis of the consequences.System integration in a web mapping platform. Use of numerical models for a better representation of wave overtopping. Cooperation in field campaigns carried out.

Scientific Orientation

Has assisted several research trainees, mainly in the application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to assess the risk of wave overtopping in coastal and port areas, using models of wave propagation (SWAN and DREAMS) and wave overtopping (NN_OVERTOPPING2), using GIS tools and developing scripts in Python.
