Presentation

The Electrotechnical and Mechanical Systems Unit (NSEM) develops scientific and technological activities in the field of Scientific Instrumentation, namely:
  • Design and development of measuring instruments and test equipment for field or laboratory tests, specially designed for application in the broad field of Civil Engineering.
  • Transduction of physical quantities, conditioning, data acquisition and digital signal processing, automation and control systems, power electronics and electromechanical drives.
  • Definition and establishment of test methodologies and participation in multidisciplinary teams aiming to conduct field and laboratory studies and tests.
  • Technological consultancy, particularly in the selection and acquisition of diverse instrumentation, to support LNEC activities.
  • Construction of measuring instruments prototypes, testing equipment, test specimens, and physical models.
