From April 19 to 20, 2023, the Conference "Geohazard risk management in the Atlantic area" will be held at LNEC. This will be the final Conference of the AGEO project, in which LNEC participates.

The Platform for Atlantic Geohazard Risk Management (AGEO) is a project funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area program. AGEO aims to pilot a new form of engagement between civil society and local authorities to demonstrate how citizens’ involvement in geohazard risks prevention can strengthen regional and national risk management systems.

Five pilot sites located in the Canary Islands (Spain), Giants’ Causeway and Carrick-a-rede (Northern Ireland), in Lisbon (Portugal), in Madeira Island (Portugal) and in Brittany (France) were created under this project.

AGEO also intends to encourage the local use of innovative Earth observation products and services provided by European data infrastructures, in particular Copernicus, which will support geohazard risk management.
